Tim Vantilborgh | Associate professor

Tim received his PhD in 2012 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel with a dissertation focusing on the psychological contracts of volunteers. In 2014, he started working as Assistant Professor in a tenure track at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In 2019, he became a tenured Associate Professor in the same university. Tim is the lead investigator of the lab. His research interests are psychological contracts, dynamics of phenomena in the workplace, personality, emotions, stress, and research methods. Tim teaches Research Methods I and II, as well as Qualitative Research Methods for Psychology at the faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences.

Safaa Achnak | Post-Doctoral researcher

Safaa obtained her Master’s degree in Psychology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2015. She started her PhD in 2016 funded by an FWO grant and obtained her PhD in 2021. In her PhD, Safaa investigated the effects of psychological contract breach perceptions on the development of stress and burnout over time. Her PhD was supervised by Prof. Tim Vantilborgh.

Juul Vossen | PhD student

Juul obtained a Master’s degree in Psychology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2018. After working in our research unit—Work and Organizational Psychology—for several months, he started his PhD, which is funded by FWO (G027519N), entitled “Psychological contracts as complex dynamic networks: Introducing the iPC-networks model” in 2019. His PhD research is supervised by Prof. Tim Vantilborgh. In his research, Juul adopts a new perspective to studying psychological contracts as dynamic networks that model the ongoing exchanges of employer inducements for employee contributions.

Yang Yang | Former PhD student

Yang Yang obtained her Master’s degree in Psychology at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 2016. She started her PhD in 2016 in our lab. In her PhD, Yang Yang examines the dynamics of psychological contract over-fulfilment. Her PhD is supervised by Prof. Tim Vantilborgh. Yang Yang completed her PhD in 2021.

Jiahong Du completed her PhD on the role of culture in psychological contracts in 2021.

Mohsen Yaghoubi | Visiting PhD student

Mohsen Yaghoubi obtained his Master’s degree of Art in Public Administration in 2014 from the University of Sistan and Baluchestan in Iran. He currently pursues his PhD at the University of Sistan and Baluchestan. He visited our lab for 6 months in 2019.
